The Board of Assessors in each city and town in the Commonwealth is required by Massachusetts law to list and value all real and personal property. Valuation is subject to "ad valorem" taxation on an assessment roll each year which means that all property should be taxed "according to value". In Massachusetts, assessed values are based on "full and fair cash value", or 100% of the fair market value.
Edgartown continues to use Vision Appraisal software to maintain assessments. However, as of January 2020, the Vision Online Database will no longer be updated for taxpayer access. Instead, the most recent fiscal year property record cards can be found using the town’s Online GIS website, https://www.axisgis.com/EdgartownMA/ Please click this link to use this program. This program displays interactive maps and a good deal of publicly available property information. Property owner information will be periodically updated through the calendar year.
As of March 10, 2020, after selecting a parcel, you may click on Documents & Links and then on Vision PDF Property Card to view the most recent fiscal year property value information for that parcel.
